We chose a school bus over a van because, at the time, it was better for us practically, financially, and socially. A bus will naturally be larger than most vans and would allow us much more freedom to add what we want to the build.
Why choose a school bus.
A retired school bus will also be the cheaper option 99% of the time. Saving money on the bus meant we could spend more on the interior. Finally, skoolies have an undeniable community that gives you a sense of pride in being part of it.

In March of 2021, we quit our office jobs to convert our own skoolie, and worked towards our dream of full-time travel! This is also what sparked the beginning of our YouTube channel. The videos get better as you go (at least we think so!), but we documented the whole 6 month process.
